The Ramblin’ Aid Leadership Team is made up of close friends and fellow Georgia Tech alumni who share a deep connection to the Institute and the experiences that shaped our lives. Many of us worked our way through college, balancing the academic rigor of Tech with the challenges of making ends meet, while others have simply carried a lifelong passion for supporting Georgia Tech and its students. Together, we are committed to making Ramblin’ Aid an unforgettable event — a celebration of friendship, music, and memories, and a powerful way to give back to the next generation of Yellow Jackets.
As a student at Georgia Tech in the early 1990s, Dan Shinedling — better known to many as "Dan the Man" — found a way to combine his love of music with the need to make ends meet, playing live shows at fraternity and sorority parties, campus events, and bars like the Wreck Room. Along the way, he and his friends built a community where music, laughter, and lifelong memories brought everyone together. Ramblin’ Aid grew out of a desire to bring that spirit back — reconnecting old friends, celebrating the good times they shared, and channeling that energy into helping today’s Georgia Tech students succeed.
Ramblin' Aid is a group of Georgia Tech alumni and friends who host an annual event to raise funds for students in need. Each year, we partner with a Georgia Tech organization dedicated to providing critical services and aid to support Yellow Jackets facing hardships. Through music, celebration, and giving back, we help build a stronger future for Tech students
